Thrills, Chills, and Autographs: BOOMxMWFA Black Demolition Derby Team Shines at FusionFest

Pittsburgh’s downtown was alive with excitement on Sunday, June 30, 2024, as the BOOMxMWFA Black Demolition Derby Team revved up the energy at FusionFest, part of the city’s vibrant Juneteenth celebration. From 1-5 PM, the team showcased their incredible derby car, a masterpiece painted by the talented Camo Nesbit and Jason Sauer.

The dynamic duo, Tyriq Mcclelland and Shok Shok, were on hand to sign autographs, turning the derby car into a living canvas of public art as visitors enthusiastically added their signatures. The atmosphere was electric, filled with laughter, cheers, and the roar of engines, embodying the spirit of community and celebration.

FusionFest was a sensory feast featuring a delightful mix of food, art, fashion, history, and live performances, all taking place at the historic Greenwood Plan Building at 213 Smithfield. The event brought together people of all ages to honor Juneteenth, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of Pittsburgh.
