2015 Tour

Most Wanted Fine Art (MWFA) and the Pittsburgh Art Car went on an epic cross-country tour May 5-25, 2015. We drove cross-country from Pittsburgh to LA with 4 artists in one truck towing a graffiti covered Pittsburgh Art Car. We made lots of stops along the way including Salt Lake City at the Urban Arts Gallery. Once in LA we flew in 3 other Pittsburgh Artists. The seven of us made art live at the prestigious Downtown LA Artwalk where we were at The Regent. The seven artists did our best clown car and drove the truck and trailer to San Francisco to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Bay Area Maker Faire in San Mateo. At Maker Faire the Pittsburgh Art Car was smashed by Megabot a 15-foot tall robot that shoots canon style paint balls. Afterwards the original 4 headed back through Vegas, Denver, Kansas City, and St. Louis while the three artists flew back to Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Art Car vs Megabot went over huge in the news. Here are some of the best articles. We were excited to be seen in:

Ate at The crescent moon. We had to have a Reuben since it was invented in Omaha. They were small by Pittsburgh standards but easy to eat and had just the right amount of everything. Perfect bites all the way through.

Stopped at Urban Arts Gallery at Gateway Mall on May 8th from 1pm to 9pm with four artists from Pittsburgh. They’ll be inviting the public to help adorn art on the car and giving a presentation on the project during this month’s Connect.

Met with an employee of the Grand Canyon and took the Pittsburgh Art Car on look out points.

Part of the Downtown LA Artwalk on May 14th 5:30 pm -10:00 pm with 7 artists from Pittsburgh. http://www.theregenttheater.com/event/785229-pittsburgh-art-car-los-angeles/

Part of the 10 Anniversary of Maker Faire! Pittsburgh Art Car vs Megabot. Megabots are 15ft tall weaponized robots that shot the art car over the weekend.

Met with Deirdre Visser curator at “The Arts” California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.

Met with Comedian Dr Brian King and Tamarisk Wood in Las Vegas. Tamarisk is the Curator at Downtown Spaces and Naked City Studios that is the DIY arts district in downtown Las Vegas.

We arrived in the middle of the night and knew we had to eat BBQ. The only place open and thankfully with parking near by was Char-Bar. The food was not old fashioned in anyway but in the middle of a rainy night it was heaven.

Met with Dail Chambers from the Yeyo Arts Collective in St. Louis. The collective is celebrating 5 years helping the creative empowerment of women and families in Saint Louis MO. We brought back Dail’s art as well as a group show from Yeyo Arts to be shown during our June Unblurred Gallery opening.
