Bohemian Ossuary x Kinsel x RI

Most Wanted Fine Art had a great time packing the art, transporting it, and installing this Jamestown Rhode Island show for Pittsburgh’s DS Kinsel.

Local creative hub BOOM Concepts, co-founded by Pittsburgh-based artist DS Kinsel, helped organize two solo exhibitions this fall at the Jamestown Arts Center in Rhode Island. The shows, Bohemian Ossuary by Kinsel and Bloodstone + Home by Providence-based artist Becci Davis, run from September 12 through November 8, 2025. An opening reception on September 12 from 5:30–7:30 PM showcased the installations and brought the community together, with both artists in attendance.

Bohemian Ossuary features over 50 paintings and sculptural totems created over the past five years, exploring mortality, ancestral iconography, and cultural memory. “My primary goal was to dedicate my painting practice to a specific aesthetic while creating a visual language that can be instantly associated with my work,” says Kinsel. “The subject matter allows me to explore mortality and create new myths in an expressive and large-scale manner. I am also hoping that audiences at least learn the meaning of ‘ossuary’, so many people have been intrigued by the word.”

In Bloodstone + Home, Davis uses layered collage to examine Southern lineage. “Bloodstone + Home is an examination of the family stories I was told as a child, an investigation of how the effects of past events remain present in my life, an inventory of the gifts that I’ve inherited from my ancestors, and a blueprint to guide my descendents” said Becci Davis.

Both exhibitions, curated by Jamestown Arts Center’s 2025 Distinguished Artist of the Year Brooke Erin Goldstein, explore ancestry, inheritance, and perseverance, and offer Pittsburgh audiences a chance to follow a local artist’s work on a national stage.

The art is on display until 11-8-25. Make sure to stop in and check it out!!!

These works are charged objects—giving voice and embodiment to martyrs and deities. Kinsel explores the link between spirituality and anatomy, building an archive of ancestral community that is being resurrected rather than invented.

Supported by @boom_concepts and the Exposure Artist Program grant from @the_pittsburgh_foundation, this new body of work expands on Kinsel’s 🧠🦴♥️ collection. The majority of the pieces were created during residencies at @emmanuelcollegeart and @chateau_orquevaux.
