48 Hour Mural Project: Pittsburgh
48 Hour Mural Project: Pittsburgh
Hosted at the former Leslie Park Pool, a beloved neighborhood landmark slated for demolition, the project offers a unique opportunity for artists and residents to celebrate the pool’s history while leaving a lasting visual tribute to the Lawrenceville neighborhood.
The event is a program of National Mural awards and organized locally by Most Wanted Fine Art, in collaboration with BOOM Concepts, the Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation, and Lawrenceville United.
Lead sponsorship is provided by ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages.
The mural project officially kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26. During the kickoff, the five invited artists will each receive their assigned mural sections and creative prompts, including required elements that highlight neighborhood identity, sponsor recognition, and a shared creative character and prop linked to the 48 Hour Film Project, which is collaborating partner this year. Artists then have 48 hours to complete their murals.
