Gold Strike Casino Resort is stepping into 2026 like royalty with its “Behind the Velvet Rope” New Year’s Eve party, featuring live performances by local favorites Thump Daddy, DJ TJ Harris, and Paperchase, plus the crowning of the 2026 King or Queen of Gold Strike. The celebration also includes a live, giant-scale painting created on site by artist Jason Sauer.

The Dec. 31 event is free and open to the public, and guests must be 21 or older to attend.

Thump Daddy takes the party back to the good ol’ days in the Live Oak Ballroom starting at 8 p.m. Based out of Memphis, Tennessee, Thump Daddy is on a mission to make the masses dance by bringing the groove from eras past, spanning the ’60s through today’s chart-topping hits.

DJ TJ Harris takes over the turntables in Drafts starting at 8 p.m. The Pittsburgh native has earned a strong reputation in the entertainment world for his high-energy, beat-driven performances. He has opened for major artists including DMX, Florida Georgia Line, Doug E. Fresh, and more.

Also from Pittsburgh, artist Jason Sauer will create a large-scale painting live during the event. Known for his bold, process-driven work, Sauer blends performance and visual art, transforming live moments into immersive, one-of-a-kind pieces. The 8-foot-by-12-foot painting will feature the casino and be themed specifically for the New Year’s Eve celebration.

Paperchase kicks off at Stage 2 at 10:30 p.m. and counts Gold Strike down to midnight. Considered the Gulf Coast’s ultimate party band, Paperchase is based out of New Orleans and brings high-energy performances that blend R&B, hip-hop, rock, country, and rap into crowd-moving mashups.

Gold Strike is also raising the stakes with its Claim Your Crown drawing on Dec. 31. At 8 p.m., one name will be drawn to become King or Queen of Gold Strike, winning a stay in the penthouse suite, dining at all Gold Strike restaurants, a spa treatment, $10,000 in Rewards or table play, and an appearance on a Gold Strike billboard. Entries can be earned beginning Dec. 31, and the winner must be present to win.
